Asset Protection Coordinator The primary purpose of this role is to provide qualified stand over services and issue close approach consents for works undertaken near Powerco electricity assets. This role protects strategic network assets, ensures public safety, provides technical advice to contractors and supports underground asset identification and utility investigations. The Key Responsibilities of the Asset Protection Co Ordinator are: Network Asset Protection and Compliance The Asset Protection Coordinator is responsible for protecting Unison's electricity network assets through the provision of close approach assessments, excavation oversight, contractor liaison, compliance monitoring, permit administration and emergency response support. - Provide electrical stand over services for excavation works near strategic electricity assets.
- Assess and issue close approach consents in accordance with Powerco requirements and NZECP 34.
- Review Before UDig plans and service information prior to site attendance.
- Oversee contractors working around network assets and ensure compliance with permit conditions.
- Provide cable locating, utility investigation and underground asset identification support.
- Maintain accurate records of permits, consents, inspections and field activities.
- Support storm response, emergency works and network restoration activities.
- Maintain effective relationships with Powerco, contractors, local authorities and customers.
Essential for this role we require you to have the following: - Current New Zealand Driver Licence.
- Electrical industry competency relevant to Powerco stand over activities.
- Sound understanding of NZECP 34.
- 3 years in registered field of expertise within the power distribution industry.
