The opportunity

Looking for a hands-on role where you can learn, grow and build a long-term career? Join Unison Contracting Services as an Apprentice Asset Recorder and gain practical experience working both outdoors and in the office, while working towards industry-relevant skills and qualifications..

You'll play an important role in helping ensure our network records are accurate, supporting safety, planning, and damage prevention.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with locating and identifying underground and above-ground assets
  • Record asset information using GPS and digital tools
  • Support cable tracing and locating activities
  • Update records, plans and databases
  • Work on active worksites and in the office
  • Learn and apply safe working practices and industry standards
  • Participate in structured training and development

You'll bring:

  • NCEA Level 2 or above
  • A willingness to learn and take on feedback
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Restricted or Full NZ Driver Licence (or working towards it)

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Interest in infrastructure, utilities or construction
  • Outdoor or labouring experience
  • Exposure to GIS, CAD or similar tools
