The opportunity
Looking for a hands-on role where you can learn, grow and build a long-term career? Join Unison Contracting Services as an Apprentice Asset Recorder and gain practical experience working both outdoors and in the office, while working towards industry-relevant skills and qualifications..
You'll play an important role in helping ensure our network records are accurate, supporting safety, planning, and damage prevention.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with locating and identifying underground and above-ground assets
- Record asset information using GPS and digital tools
- Support cable tracing and locating activities
- Update records, plans and databases
- Work on active worksites and in the office
- Learn and apply safe working practices and industry standards
- Participate in structured training and development
You'll bring:
- NCEA Level 2 or above
- A willingness to learn and take on feedback
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Restricted or Full NZ Driver Licence (or working towards it)
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Interest in infrastructure, utilities or construction
- Outdoor or labouring experience
- Exposure to GIS, CAD or similar tools
