The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and organised Vegetation Management Coordinator to join our Network Investment and Delivery team based in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of Unison's vegetation management programme by providing project administration, customer liaison, and close coordination with Unison Contracting Services Limited (UCSL) and external contractors across the Hawke's Bay and Central regions.
Reporting to the Strategic Project Manager, you will help ensure vegetation risks are effectively managed in line with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and Unison's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of coordination and administrative activities, including:
- Planning and coordinating the vegetation work programme based on risk prioritisation frameworks.
- Creating and managing work orders and tree notices in accordance with the Electricity (Hazards from Trees) Regulations 2003, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness of all documentation and communications.
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers, landowners, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the vegetation management process.
- Coordinating schedules with UCSL and other contractors, including adjustments for urgent fault or outage work.
- Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives, audits, documentation control, and special projects as required.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- At least three years' experience in an office or administrative environment with a sound understanding of business administration functions.
- Strong coordination, organisational, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work confidently under pressure.
- Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
- A current driver's licence and a commitment to health and safety.
