Customer Project Manager

The Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Customer Project Manager to join our Customer, Commercial and Regulatory team in Hawke's Bay.

In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering commercially sustainable, technically compliant and regulatorily robust network connection solutions for both standard and complex customer projects. You'll act as a key point of accountability for customers across the full lifecycle of customer-initiated projects, from enquiry through to commercial agreement and delivery coordination.

This is a varied, customer-facing role that combines technical judgement, commercial thinking and strong relationship management. You'll work with customers, electricians, consultants, councils, developers, contractors and internal teams to develop practical connection solutions, manage expectations, support project delivery and help achieve long-term customer and network outcomes.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Building strong relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Managing customer projects from enquiry through to delivery.
  • Developing technical and commercial solutions for customer connection projects.
  • Coordinating contractors and internal teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Providing expert advice on network connections, regulations and industry requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and customer experiences.

What You'll Bring:

  • Registration as an Electrician or Line Mechanic.
  • Five years' experience in the electrical distribution industry.
  • Two years' design and planning experience in the electrical distribution industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience managing customer relationships.
  • Knowledge of relevant acts, regulations and codes of practice.
