We are currently looking for an Electrical Fitter to join our team in Tauranga. This is a permanent, full-time role with guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week in a stable and supportive environment.

The role of Electrical Fitter - Tauranga is to provide safe, reliable and cost effective construction, erection, wiring, installation, repair, assembly, maintenance and modification of all classes of electrical apparatus used in the generation and distribution of electricity where specialised knowledge is required.

The end result is to efficiently maintain the designated Network equipment in a safe and reliable working condition

The Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Fitter - Tauranga are:

• Undertake construction work by:
  • Assembly, erection, wiring and installation of distribution equipment.
  • Commissioning and testing of distribution equipment.
• Carry out maintenance work by:
  • Servicing and repairing distribution equipment.
  • Testing of distribution equipment.
• Undertake Zone Substation construction and maintenance work by:
  • Assembly, erection, wiring, installation and maintenance of substation equipment.
  • Commissioning and testing of substation equipment.
• Installation of temporary generation equipment by:
  • Assessing customer requirements.
  • Liaising on-site with customers/contractors.
  • Installing generation equipment.
  • Providing maintenance of generation equipment.
• Ensure the operation of the Ripple Generation Equipment by:
  • Inspecting and maintaining equipment on a regular basis.
• Maintain the Recloser and Sectionaliser equipment by:
  • Inspecting and maintaining equipment on a regular basis.
  • Removing the equipment for workshop servicing and testing.
• Maintain and repair Zone Substation equipment by:
  • Fault investigation, adjustments to set point including Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Switchgear, Battery Chargers, Tap Changes and VT's and VR's and Protection Relays.
• Assist Unison Contractors with technical advice and assistance as necessary.
• Undertake on-site Project Management involving other Unison staff and Contractors to Unison.
• Provide in-put as appropriate to the Design, Planning and Construction of allocated tasks.
• Complete documentation relevant to the performance of duties.

Supervise and support Apprentice Electricians, when required

What you will need

• EWRB registration as an Electrician, with a current Practising Licence.
• 5+ year's relevant industry experience
• Full, clean Class 1 Drivers' Licence
