The Business and Operations Manager - Dunedin is responsible for: - Key contributor to managing the client relationship with Aurora Energy, delivering on UCSL's customer value proposition, resulting in a strong partnership that meets both parties' needs.
- Managing day-to-day operations to ensure successful delivery of contracting services to Aurora Energy, including service delivery, project execution, resource allocation, and efficiency.
- Driving commercial success by leading a high-performance team to achieve financial results for the business.
- Working with the USD Growth & Business Development teams to develop and execute strategies that will create value by generating long-term, sustainable earnings in Dunedin and the South Island.
- The Key responsibilities of the role are.
Client Relationship & Partnership Management (Aurora) - Build and sustain trusted partnerships with Aurora Energy stakeholders.
- Proactively engage to understand evolving client needs.
- Foster a collaborative, mutually beneficial partnership mindset.
- Conduct regular reviews to assess and improve partnership performance, and monitor and report on KPIs, implementing strategies to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Contract & Value Delivery - Oversee contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance and fulfilment of obligations.
- Identify and implement beneficial contract enhancements.
- Align UCSL's Customer Value Proposition (CVP) with Aurora Energy's strategic goals.
- Collaborate internally to deliver solutions that maximise client value.
Business & Operational Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and a culture of learning.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
- Manage financial performance, prepare forecasts, and drive cost control and revenue growth.
- Drive continuous improvement through best practice implementation, issue resolution, and quality control
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management - Manage daily operations and service delivery, ensuring efficiency, quality and adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
- Optimise resource planning and allocation for productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain rigorous quality assurance, conducting audits and implementing improvements.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor and prepare performance reports, and drive process improvements.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring regulatory compliance and contingency planning
- Promote safety and compliance, implement emergency procedures, and communicate with leadership.
Growth & Strategic Development - Formulate strategies aligned with UCSL's vision and goals.
- Provide insights based on industry trends and client feedback
- Integrate new opportunities, acquisitions, or partnerships smoothly - drive profitable growth
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and sustainability.
- Establish KPIs, prepare reports for senior management, and use data to optimise initiatives.

Also required - Relevant tertiary qualification in business or equivalent and/ or an Electrical qualification
- Ability to develop and maintain Stakeholder Management.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, mentor and manage people.
- Proven ability to deliver to business and customer expectations.
- At least 5-10 years' experience relevant experience in the electrical, contracting or similar industry.
