Finance Manager - Centralines

Centralines Limited (‘Centralines') is a separate Electricity Distribution Business that owns and operates the network in the Central Hawkes Bay region. Unison provides services, including financial management, to Centralines under a Managed Services Agreement (‘MSA').

The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Finance Manager - Centralines. This role sits within the Unison Finance team, reporting to the Head of Group Finance with a dotted reporting line to the General Manager Centralines.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week. You will split your time between our Hastings office, and Centralines' office in Waipukurau.

As the Finance Manager - Centralines you will lead the finance and administration function for Centralines Limited, under the MSA with Unison. You will be responsible for

  • Compliance with statutory, legal and regulatory obligations,
  • Prudent financial management of shareholder investments, and
  • Promoting best financial practices across the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the integrity of the Centralines financial information systems and processes.
  • Prepare monthly board reports, half yearly and annual financial statements.
  • Manage AP, AR, Credit Control and Payroll functions.
  • Facilitate preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead financial strategy development.
  • Present financial insights and strategic recommendations at Board meetings.
  • Oversee coordination of the Audit and Risk Committee
  • Support the Pricing Manager to develop Centralines network pricing strategies.

What We Are Looking For:

  • You will be a tertiary qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • You will have a minimum of 8 years in finance roles, ideally working with medium/large companies.
  • You will have the ability to take full ownership of the end-to-end finance function, including preparation and presentation of financial and management reports, while ensuring accuracy, compliance and strategic alignment.
  • You will have excellent communication skills at all levels, including Board Members, Senior Management and Trust Members.
  • Financial modelling and data analysis skills.
