The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Hastings-based team as Assistant Accountant - Unison Contracting Services Limited. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week.

As the Assistant Accountant - Unison Contracting Services Limited (UCSL) you will be responsible for supporting the USCL Finance Team and wider Unison Finance Team in providing accounting, taxation and administrative functions for the Unison Group.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with month-end close process, including the preparation and posting of journals and accruals.
  • Assist in preparation and processing of monthly management accounts, revenue and expense variance analysis, and capital expenditure reports.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, ensuring outstanding items are actioned on a timely basis and submit to the Finance Team Leader - UCSL for review.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operational budgets and revised forecasts.
  • Assist in preparation of financial information and analysis and as required.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting or commerce is a must.
  • You will have a minimum 2 years' experience in a financial or accounting function.
  • Experience in financial reporting and month end reconciliation.
  • Ideally you would have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
