We are looking for a Health and Safety Superstar to help us get our new depot up to speed working closely with our Senior Health and Safety Advisor for the Region.

This is Part time role 25 Hours a week

UCSL Health and Safety Management System ("HSMS"). Together with the Senior Advisor:

• Implement, maintain and monitor the Unison Contracting Services Limited's health and safety management system, to meet legislative requirements, customer and business performance

• To coordinate with the Learning Experience team, the provision of training, induction and education on all aspects of health and safety in the work environment
• To advise and educate staff to comply with all health and safety requirements
• Maintains awareness of changes to health and safety and electricity legislation and escalates any potential regulatory reporting event to the Senior Advisor
• Coordinates effective worker consultation, coordination and engagement through health and safety meetings or working groups
• To coordinate and implement the contractor management programme including pre-qualification of new contractors, conductor inductions, safety system auditing and performance monitoring
• Record and monitor competency assessments for staff, contractors and third-party contractors
• To advise, mentor and coach managers, staff and contractors to understand and implement appropriate health and safety policies, procedures and practices
• Provide Induction training to unison personnel and contractors to ensure compliance and practical understanding of the Unison health and safety system
• Supports the implementation of the UCSL health and safety strategy, goals, objectives and initiatives.
• Coordinates the hazard identification and risk assessment programme and maintains the UCSL risk registers. ·
• Supports the rollout of any health and safety initiatives to enhance and build on Unison's health and safety culture and leadership programmes.
• Assist the Health and Safety and management teams in any necessary tasks associated with the management of the company HSMS.

Provides support with any requirements for the Unison Networks public safety management system ("PSMS").

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with

• NCEA Level 4
• A minimum of 2-4 years practical Health & Safety experience
• An understanding of operational Health & Safety
• Knowledge of relevant H&S statutory and legislative requirements Safety experience
• Full Drivers Licence class 1

Desirable to have

• NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health and Safety or NEBOSH Certificate
